  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and arrange the rack in the middle position.
  2. Place one potato between two chopsticks or skewers to control your cuts.
  3. Slice the potato vertically into slits about ⅛ inch apart, stopping when you hit the chopsticks.
  4. Transfer the sliced potatoes to a baking sheet and brush half of the melted butter over them, ensuring it seeps into the slits.
