  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen; if using frozen, do not thaw first)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (more as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  2. In one bowl, mix together brown sugar, flour, and softened butter for the topping until crumbly.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract, lemon juice, sour cream, and lemon zest.
  5. Gently fold in blueberries until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared dish; sprinkle half of the topping over it. Add remaining batter and top with remaining topping.
  7. Bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
