Description

Celebrate Independence Day with these delightful 4th of July Cakesicles, a fun and festive twist on traditional cake pops! Perfect for summer gatherings, these easy-to-make treats transform leftover cake into vibrant desserts that are sure to impress.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups crumbled cake (about half of a 9x13 cake or ½ a boxed cake mix)
  • ½ cup vanilla frosting
  • 2 cups white candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon refined coconut oil (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Red and blue gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, crumble leftover cake into fine pieces. Mix in frosting until it forms a dough-like consistency.
  2. Pack the mixture into cakesicle molds and insert popsicle sticks. Freeze for about 30 minutes until solid.
  3. Melt white candy melts in intervals in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Optional: add coconut oil to thin.
  4. Dip each frozen cakesicle into the melted coating, allowing excess to drip off before placing on parchment paper.
  5. Mix powdered sugar with water to create drizzle icing; tint with red and blue food coloring as desired.
  6. Drizzle colored icing over each cakesicle and add decorative toppings if desired.
  7. Let cool completely before serving.
