  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup spring colored M&Ms
  • ½ cup Easter sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9” round cake pan with foil and spray generously with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat together softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well.
  3. Gradually mix in baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar. Slowly add flour until just combined. Gently fold in M&Ms and sprinkles.
  4. Press the dough into the prepared pan evenly. Bake for 19–22 minutes until lightly golden around the edges.
  5. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
