Ingredients
- 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into florets
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup water
- ¼ cup gluten-free tamari or soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes, optional
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- Optional: sliced green onions
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and water until smooth.
- Toss the cauliflower florets in the batter until well coated.
- Spread the coated cauliflower evenly on the baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
- Meanwhile, prepare the sesame sauce by combining tamari or soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan over medium heat. Add cornstarch mixed with water to thicken.
- Once the cauliflower is done baking, mix it with the warm sesame sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and optional sliced green onions before serving.
