Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • Green gel food coloring
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup finely crumbled snack cakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper.
  2. Sift powdered sugar and almond flour together twice to eliminate lumps.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whip egg whites until foamy, then add cream of tartar. Gradually mix in granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Mix in green food coloring.
  4. Gently fold in the almond flour mixture until it flows like lava.
  5. Pipe tree shapes onto lined baking sheets and tap lightly to release air bubbles. Let them rest for 30–60 minutes until a skin forms on top.
  6. Bake for 14–16 minutes, rotating halfway through, then cool completely.
  7. For the filling, beat softened butter until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, cream, salt, and crumbled snack cakes until well combined.
  8. Assemble by pairing macaron shells and piping filling between them.
  9. Decorate with white chocolate drizzle and sprinkles while still wet.
