  • 1 white cake mix (plus ingredients to prepare)
  • 1 box (3 oz) Berry Blue Jell-o
  • 1 box (3 oz) Cherry Jell-o
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (thawed)
  • Optional: red & blue food coloring, patriotic sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the white cake mix according to package directions. Bake in a 9×13-inch pan and let cool completely.
  2. Once cooled, use a straw or wooden spoon handle to poke holes all over the cake.
  3. Prepare each flavor of Jell-o by mixing boiling water with cold water as directed.
  4. Pour half of the Berry Blue Jell-o over one section of the cake, letting it seep into the holes followed by half of the Cherry Jell-o in another section.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours or overnight for best results.
  6. Spread thawed whipped topping evenly over the chilled cake and add swirls of food coloring if desired.
  7. Finish with patriotic sprinkles before slicing and serving.
