  • 2 sticks butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups Red, White & Blue M&M'S (plus more for topping)
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips (plus more for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 aluminum baking dish with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a stand mixer, beat together room temperature butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Gradually mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Gently fold in M&M'S and mini chocolate chips (reserve some for topping).
  4. Spread dough evenly into the prepared baking dish and top with reserved M&M'S and chocolate chips.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown on top. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
