Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups plain white flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chilled butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 1/4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 3 tablespoons sugar (for filling)
- 2 tablespoons cornflour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the pitted cherries with sugar and cornflour; mix well.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in chilled butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in beaten egg and milk until combined.
