  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups dark corn syrup
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • ¾ cup cold butter
  • ½ cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for glass pans).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, combine flour and sugar; rub in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Press the mixture into the pan and bake for about 20 minutes until golden.
  5. In another bowl, mix brown sugar and flour; whisk in eggs, vanilla, salt, and corn syrup.
  6. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes while the crust bakes.
  7. Stir in chopped pecans and pour over the baked crust.
  8. Bake again for 40–50 minutes until set but slightly wobbly in the center.
  9. Cool completely at room temperature before chilling in the fridge for several hours.
  10. Cut into squares using a serrated knife.
