Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags or 4 tsp loose leaf black tea
- 1 large orange (zest and juice)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Optional: 2 star anises
- Honey or sugar (for sweetening)
- Ice cubes
- Orange slices (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil the water in a saucepan. While it heats, zest the orange.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags, cinnamon sticks, orange zest, and optional star anise. Cover and steep for 5 to 8 minutes.
- Juice the orange while the tea is steeping. After steeping, remove the tea bags and strain into a pitcher. Mix in the orange juice and sweeten if desired.
- Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.
- Serve over ice, garnished with fresh orange slices and optional cinnamon sticks.
