- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 wooden sticks
Instructions
- Clean and dry the apples thoroughly, then insert wooden sticks into each apple and chill in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Stir constantly until melted.
- Gradually add sweetened condensed milk while whisking until smooth. Cook until the mixture thickens and reaches 245°F on a candy thermometer (about 15-25 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Allow cooling slightly.
- Dip each chilled apple into the warm caramel until fully coated, letting excess drip off before placing on parchment-lined baking sheet.
- If desired, sprinkle toppings immediately after coating while caramel is still warm.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set before serving.
