  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded phyllo dough (kataifi)
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, egg, vanilla extract, milk, vegetable oil, and hot coffee. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into the pan and bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. For the pistachio filling, toast kataifi with butter until golden brown. Mix with pistachio cream.
  5. Melt chocolate and heavy cream together in the microwave until smooth.
  6. Once cooled, spread the pistachio filling on the cake and top with melted chocolate.
