- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp allspice
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- ½ cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and green bell peppers until tender, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
- Increase heat to medium-high, add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, cumin, allspice, paprika, and cayenne. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in beef broth and simmer for about 10 minutes until most liquid is absorbed.
- Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface to about ⅛ inch thick; cut into circles using a round cutter.
- Place about 2 tablespoons of filling on one half of each circle. Fold over and seal edges with a fork.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
