  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup melted unsalted butter (topping)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (topping)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (topping)
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg (topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to parchment paper.
  7. Brush the warm loaf with melted butter and coat with the cinnamon-sugar topping.
