- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1–1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 large apple (peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients and milk until combined.
- In another bowl, combine chopped apples with light brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Layer half the batter in the prepared pan, followed by half the apple mixture; swirl gently.
- Top with remaining batter and apple mixture; sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar topping.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before glazing with a mixture of confectioners' sugar, cinnamon, and water.
