Ingredients
- 1 (20 ounce) package refrigerated cheese tortellini
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
- 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage (chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Boil water in a pot according to package instructions for the tortellini. Once boiling, add the tortellini and cook until tender.
- While the tortellini cooks, slice the mushrooms and chop the sage.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped sage and cook until crispy, about one minute. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and minced garlic with another tablespoon of butter. Sauté for about 5 minutes until nicely browned.
- Drain cooked tortellini and add it to the skillet with the mushrooms. Stir in remaining butter, parmesan cheese, and crispy sage. Toss gently until coated; season with salt and pepper to taste.
