- 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120 ml) whole milk
- 1 cup (200 g) packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and grease your bundt or loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, cream cheese, and sugar until fluffy (about 4-5 minutes). Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture along with milk, starting and ending with the flour. Stir in vanilla until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan(s) and smooth the top. Bake for 65-75 minutes (bundt) or 60-70 minutes (loaf), checking doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool in the pan briefly before transferring to a wire rack.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter completely. Add brown sugar while stirring constantly until it starts bubbling—about 2-3 minutes. Slowly pour in heavy cream while continuously stirring until smooth; allow cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
