  • 1 1/2 lbs ripe tomatoes (34 medium), sliced
  • 1216 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (or to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the tomatoes and basil thoroughly. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into 1/4-inch thick pieces.
  2. Layer tomato slices on a serving platter, placing mozzarella slices in between.
  3. Tuck whole basil leaves between the layers for added freshness.
  4. Season with sea salt and black pepper, then drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Finish with balsamic glaze if desired.
