Description

Bright and Crunchy Candy Apples are the quintessential fall treat, combining a delightful crunch with a sweet, colorful candy coating. Perfect for Halloween parties or festive gatherings, these vibrant apples are not only visually stunning but also incredibly easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium firm apples (like Granny Smith or Fuji)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert wooden sticks into the tops of each apple.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Cook until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in red food coloring, vanilla extract, and salt until fully blended.
  5. Dip each apple into the candy mixture, allowing excess to drip off.
  6. Place coated apples on greased wax paper to cool completely until hardened.
